Course Overview

Exploring the latest Sassoon Academy collection through the relationship between cut, colour and creative concept.

Learners explore the techniques, concepts and creative thinking behind the latest Sassoon Academy collection, developing an understanding of how cut and colour work together to create the complete design.

Rather than viewing the haircut and colour as separate elements, learners examine how shape, placement, tone, contrast and proportion interact and how colour can enhance, define or transform the perception of the haircut.

The course develops both technical understanding and creative awareness, allowing learners to experience contemporary Sassoon thinking through an integrated approach to hair design.

Mannequin Collection

Working on mannequins, learners recreate selected collection looks with technical accuracy, exploring how the cutting and colour techniques have been designed to work together to achieve the original creative result.

Live Model Collection

Working on live models, learners draw on the cutting and colour techniques, principles and creative thinking behind the collection, adapting them in response to the individual rather than reproducing the original collection look.

Requirements

Learners will be expected to possess current knowledge of client care, as well as cutting/ colouring/finishing ability (level 2 NVQ or country equivalent). To fully appreciate the content of this course, Sassoon recommends five-plus years’ experience as a qualified hair professional.

Attendees must be aged 18 or older on the day of the course.
