Course Overview

Are you passionate about becoming a hair professional?

There is no finer starting point for anyone wishing to make their mark in the world of hair than the 25-week Sassoon Diploma course. Recognised worldwide as the ultimate in modern hair education, this course immerses the learner in the cutting, colouring and barbering techniques that underpin the Sassoon philosophy.

The course is divided into five comprehensive stages, covering all the essential subjects that will provide you with a fast track to hairdressing success. The nature and content of each stage evolve as you progress through the course. However, some things remain constant. You will receive personal guidance and mentoring from an expert Sassoon instructor throughout all of your work sessions.

Theory and practical assignments will help measure your progress at regular intervals, and at the end of each stage, an in-depth personal appraisal will ensure you are achieving the learning goals required by Sassoon.

Certification

Alongside your Sassoon Diploma, we also offer the opportunity to achieve an NVQ Level 3 qualification.

To be eligible for the NVQ qualification, you must speak and understand fluent English.

Students who are not fluent in spoken or written English must attend the course with an interpreter. Upon successful completion of the course, you will still be eligible to receive a Sassoon Diploma.

Applicants whose first language is not English will need to hold an IELTS diploma and will be required to pass an English language assessment to qualify for the NVQ programme.

NVQ Qualification: To achieve you NVQ Level 3 Diploma. your progress will be assessed through exams and observations throughout the course to achieve your NVQ Level 3 Diploma. If you do not meet the full qualification requirements, you will receive a Certificate of Accreditation toward NVQ Level 3 for the units you have successfully completed.

Note: Students must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this course.

Level

No formal experience is necessary, although the learner will be required to be hard-working and passionate about hair!

This stage of 5 weeks draws together many of the skills previously learned to provide more confidence and a greater understanding of the total role of a hair professional.

The final stage is designed to perfect skills and utilise the knowledge gathered to prepare you for working in a salon environment.

The course finishes with a Cutting, Colour, and Barbering exam as well as the graduate final show and diploma ceremony that the senior Vidal Sassoon team and your chosen guests will attend. This prestigious event requires you to work with your peers to produce all aspects of the show. Coaching and guidance will be given in theme identification, model casting, clothes styling, make-up, music, and lighting. You will also study the following elements:
